What To Expect
Attending a new church can be intimidating. Here’s what you can expect at one of our services:
All are welcome
New to church, new to the community, looking for a new church, or just passing through - everyone is welcome at our services and activities, in fact, we welcome visitors with open arms.
Sunday service
Worship is intended to help you grow in your faith and connection with God as well as socialize with the community to help build on that faith. Service begins at 9 a.m. (Rock Elm) and 10:30 a.m. (Elmwood) and lasts about 60 minutes. Greeters will welcome you and hand out a Sunday bulletin to use for the service. Feel free to sit anywhere, there are no assigned seats! Our services include responsive reading, a time for community sharing of joys and concerns, prayer, Bible readings, a Biblical message, and offering. Music will include traditional hymns and praise songs, and special music from time to time.
Fellowship
After our Worship Service, members provide snacks and drinks to allow for time to socialize informally with members and visitors.
Dress code
There isn't one! Clothing ranges from dresses and suit jackets to jeans, leggings, and hoodies. Just come with clothing!
Kids
Kids of all ages are welcome to attend worship service. Activity bags are available in the entryway for little ones. Sunday School is available during the Elmwood service for children from PreK-8th grade, September-May.
Communion
This tradition is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. All are welcome to participate, including non-members and children. Our church serves bread and grape juice; a gluten-free option is available.
